Press Release Body = New York, N.Y. (May 18, 2006) - 5 time Olympic gold medalist
and winner of 4 Women's World Chess Championships Susan Polgar is once again facing
off against some of the most talented and high ranking men in chess. The 2006 Mayors Cup Super Chess Tournament, which will take place on Sunday, June 25th, and Monday,
June 26th at the New York Athletic Club, will include some of the finest players in
the United States including Susan Polgar, Gata Kamsky, Alex Onischuk, Boris Gulko,
Alex Stripunsky, and Ildar Ibragimov.

The New York City Sports Commissioner Ken Podziba will be present. New York City
Mayor Bloomberg is also expected. Susan has turned to the art world and partnered up
with Imaginative Pencil and artist Justin Michael Jenkins to help raise money and
awareness of the Susan Polgar Foundation and this historic chess tournament.

Artist Justin Michael Jenkins, an avid chess player and passionate about the game of
chess, values the importance of chess to children and learning, and has donated his
signed and framed original, "The Concealed Fate of an Imminent Surrender", from his
chess drawing collection, to help raise funds for both the Mayors Cup Super Chess
Tournament and the Susan Polgar Foundation. This original work (16"X20" framed) will
be up for auction and the bidding will start at $1,000.00. Proceeds will go toward
the tireless and worthy cause of making young children and adults more aware of the
importance of the game through events such as the Mayors Cup Super Chess Tournament
and other important events that the Susan Polgar Foundation organizes throughout the
year.

The artist is inspired so much by the beauty, complexity, and geometric structures
the game provides on countless levels, he decided to begin a journey into extracting
the underlying laws and elements of the game into visual form based on his unique
style of art. He reveled in the fascinating ideas that could be generated onto paper
from this magnificent game. The artist states, \"Besides the fact that fact that i
play chess religiously, these underlying foundations led me naturally to study and
visually represent this game in my own unique style.\" According to the artist, this
collection of work started from a dream interpretation where the artist had a vision
of an explosive and repetitive structure of form as it blossomed from the board in a
fictitious chess match against Bobby Fischer. This collection of drawings are
perhaps some of the most unique in the world for their deep symbolic meaning for the
game and for a metaphor for life.

Thanks to Susan's vision and interest in Justin's style of art and ideas, art and
chess have fused their interconnected worlds into a worthwhile endeavor that aims to
promote chess as more than just a game. "I would describe the work of Justin Michael
Jenkins as very bold, striking, unique, and creative!", states Susan.
